Have you ever thought about donating your RV or motorhome? Many Alabamians have cherished memories of road trips, family vacations, and adventures across the state. Whether you’ve enjoyed camping at Gulf State Park or exploring the scenic backroads of North Alabama, it’s time to pass on the joy your vehicle has provided. Donating an RV can not only help you clear up space, but also support Alabamotion’s community programs that serve those in need.
Our typical donors range from retirees looking to downsize to families who have upgraded to a larger vehicle. They understand that life changes, and sometimes it’s time to let go of the RV that has been a faithful companion on countless adventures. By donating your RV or motorhome to Alabamotion, you can ensure that your vehicle continues to bring joy and support to others while providing you with potential tax benefits.

How pickup works
When it comes to picking up your donated RV or motorhome, we handle the logistics to ensure a hassle-free experience. Depending on your location, we will use a specialized RV-transport flatbed for larger vehicles or coordinate drive-away services for shorter distances. If your vehicle is stored at an RV park or storage facility, we’ll work closely with them to schedule a convenient pickup time, minimizing inconvenience for you. Please note that vehicle height and length are important factors; we adhere to state regulations, ensuring all vehicles meet the necessary clearance routing standards of 13’6” max.
What drives donation value
The value of your donated RV or motorhome can be influenced by several key factors. The condition of crucial house systems—such as the roof, slides, plumbing, and AC—will significantly impact its worth. A well-maintained RV with recent service records will typically command a higher value than a vehicle with water damage or neglected systems. Seasonality also plays a role, as spring auctions often yield the best prices. For classic models, consider getting an appraisal from a qualified appraiser to maximize your potential tax deduction with IRS Form 8283 Section B.
Documentation you need

Alabama specifics
In Alabama, RVs and motorhomes are subject to specific DMV rules for titling and registration. When donating, it’s essential to transfer the title properly to ensure the donation process is smooth. While some donors may be able to provide a bill of sale, others might need to adhere strictly to the title-based transfer, especially for larger vehicles. Our team at Alabamotion will guide you through these state-titled requirements to make the process easy and straightforward.
